New videos from recent shows! Rick Dill and The Silver Train Band were out serenading the home team at the Little Silver gazebo recently when these two videos were captured to remember the event and to give you a glimpse of the goodness to come in the next CD. First, a new tune by Rick's son Max, "Great Falls" followed by "Who Do You Drive For?" (if you didn't watch it enough from the home page!):

Rick and four of his band played a coffee house event supporting the Community YMCA Strong Kids Campaign at the Children's Cultural Center, Red Bank, on March 7, 2008. It was a wonderful show and one of the tunes they played, You Have A Place, was caught on video. Enjoy!

Where do you go for good music? Let Rick know in a note through the Talk to Rick page.

What a show! Check out this review emailed out from a fan who caught the Fall 2007 performance of the Rick Dill Band at the Bluegrass & Oldtime Music Association:

EXCELLENT----EXCELLENT----- EXCELLENT

Rick and his 5-piece band rocked a normally quiet house this afternoon for 1 hour of non-stop music. It was not the normal bluegrass that others play, but more of a folk-country with bluegrass instruments (except my favorite, the banjo, but there was no need for one). They played 12 songs, some original and some covers, and all were great. The fiddle and dobro each had solo breaks for all of the songs and the crowd applauded after each break. That pleased the die-hard bluegrassers. If anyone has a chance to see this band, JUST DO IT.

The next CD is underway! Rick has been working with Steve Jankowski, horn player for Blood, Sweat and Tears, to build Steve's new recording studio, Jankland . The final paint is done and the equipment being moved in. Rick is pumped about the new tunes coming soon and says it's "worth the wait cause it's kicking giant ass so far!"

Dialog offers insight to the impact of music. What does Rick's music mean to you?

Spread the word!

"If you're a Rick Dill fan you owe it to him to tell the people you know (and a few you don't) about him. use the "Tell A Friend" function here on the site to encourage people to come listen, then to purchase both CDs, then to tell people they know by using the "Tell A Friend" function on the site to ... you get the picture. Word of mouth works only when you open your mouth. This guy deserves some fame!"

I love this CD.

I know that's not a very objective way of approaching a CD review, but nonetheless, it's accurate. I knew nothing whatsoever about this artist or the music when I was handed a plain CD with only the title "Unfinished Business" and the name "Rick Dill" printed on it. So without knowledge of the artist at all, with no liner notes or list of pickers or songwriters, armed only with the music itself, I set down to listen.
